Explanation of About Avoda

The Avoda Foundation is a humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Burmese refugees who have fled the ongoing violence and persecution in Myanmar. Our mission is driven by Christian values, with a focus on providing essential support and offering hope to those in the most desperate situations. Avoda works primarily in Thailand, where thousands of Burmese refugees live in precarious conditions along the Thai-Myanmar border, trapped in a cycle of poverty, exploitation, and fear.

Avoda’s approach is holistic, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of refugees.

Our five key areas of focus are:

1. Food Aid: Providing essential nourishment to refugees living in hiding along the border.

2. Education: Offering free schooling through the Avoda Learning Center, helping children integrate into Thai society.

3. Legal Aid: Assisting refugees in obtaining legal status through visa applications and work permits.

4. Vocational Training: Preparing refugees for stable careers, with a focus on Nurse Assistant certification in elderly care.

5. Christian Aid: Providing special assistance to Christian refugees who face persecution for their faith.

At Avoda, we believe in restoring dignity, providing opportunities, and sharing the love of Christ through action. We are committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of refugees, helping them find hope and freedom as they rebuild their lives in Thailand.
