Before coming to Avoda School, I lived with my aunt's family in Myanmar since I was six years old. My parents had gone to Bangkok, but only my mother supported me. She also had to send money to my aunt’s family every month. My father was an alcoholic and didn’t care about us.
One day, war broke out in my village. My school closed, and we had to flee. Three months later, my mother sent me to live with my cousin in Mae Sot, and that’s how I came to study at Avoda School.
At Avoda, I heard about God for the first time. My cousin also took me to church, and I started to learn more about Jesus. My whole family is Buddhist, and they never knew about Jesus before. But after I accepted Christ, my heart changed.
My attitude and behavior also changed. Now, I trust in Jesus as my Savior, and I go to church to worship Him every Sunday.
I am so thankful to Avoda because, through them, I had the opportunity to find the true God!

I am a Karen girl, and my family moved from Myanmar to Thailand long ago. Growing up, life was not easy. In school, I was bullied for being a migrant, and my family struggled to support my education. I felt like a burden and was too afraid to express myself.
Through Avoda, my life changed. I received extra classes, learned English from native speakers, and—most importantly—was given a scholarship to continue my studies. My parents also received monthly support.
Avoda has been with me for many years, from childhood to now, and through them, I came to know God. He has chosen me as His child, and now I am a believer! I am so happy to be part of Avoda.

I was a fearful child, and my parents were refugees from Myanmar. They came to Thailand seeking a better life because of the war in Myanmar. We were very poor, but my parents worked hard, especially as my mother battled tuberculosis. I wanted to improve myself to protect my family.
After receiving help from Avoda, I never imagined I’d have the chance to learn so many life skills. I’ve learned technology, English, music, and cooking, all of which will benefit my future.
Most importantly, I’ve learned that God is my provider, and I will never lack. I am truly thankful to Avoda for changing my life.
