From Gamer to Leader

Nat

Nat was a fortunate child with a loving family that provided him with everything he wanted. However, this indulgence became a double-edged sword when Nat spent most of his time gaming and engaging in his favorite activities without considering other responsibilities. Without anyone setting boundaries or teaching him time management, Nat lacked the skills to manage his time and responsibilities, raising concerns that he might grow into an adult who is unskilled and unable to take care of himself.

Everything changed when Nat joined activities at the Avoda Foundation’s Chiang Rai Learning Center. There, he encountered a different environment and learned how to balance his time across various activities—not just gaming. Nat gained new skills that he never had the chance to learn at home, such as playing musical instruments, using computers for learning, and collaborating with others.

Nat participated in various skill development activities.

Most importantly, the Avoda Learning Center taught Nat time management and responsibility. Nat shared, "Avoda taught me how to manage my time for different activities, not just gaming. I also learned how to help others and feel like my life has more value."

From a former gaming addict, Nat discovered his talent in music and became a worship leader at his church’s Sunday services. Every time he steps on stage, Nat feels both excited and proud. The transformation in Nat is evident—he has grown into a responsible, determined, and well-rounded individual. Nat now makes better use of his free time and serves as a positive role model for his peers. He is grateful to the Avoda Learning Center for helping him discover his potential and grow into a well-rounded person.

Nat’s story is proof that even if a child has everything, without proper guidance, they may lose their way. However, when surrounded by a positive environment and guided by the right people, that child can change and become a better person.
